In the 19th century, farmers and distillers in the center of the US barreled and shipped their rye whiskeys down the Mississippi River to New Orleans. These whiskeys fueled the whiskey culture of New Orleans, and established the first truly American cocktail - the Sazerac. This spicy mixing rye offers aromas of clove, sweet vanilla, anise and pepper. On the palate, look for subtle notes of candies, spice and crisp citrus. The finish is smooth, with hints of licorice.
