Since the 1990s, Michter’s has been working to revive high-quality American Rye whiskey. In May 2015, they released Michter’s US1 Barrel Strength Rye, a milestone in this effort. The Rye is barreled at 103 proof, lower than the industry standard, which increases costs but results in a richer, smoother whiskey. Each barrel is bottled at its specific proof, usually between 107 and 112. It offers a unique experience for rye whiskey enthusiasts.
