    Equiano Original Rum (Barbados)

Equiano is the world’s first Afro-Caribbean rum, named for Olaudah Equiano, born in 1745 in Africa. He was kidnapped during his teens and eventually sold into slavery in the Caribbean. Olaudah crossed the Atlantic once again to England, where he traded rum on the side. Over the years, he was able to save enough money to buy his freedom. Equiano rum is named after the man and his journey.

5% of company profits and $2 of every bottle is donated annually to ground-level equality and freedom projects.

With no color, sugar, or spices added, the fruity sweetness of raisins and brown sugar comes from the American white oak ex-bourbon casks. On the nose, like any great rum, prepare to be greeted with aromas of warm tropical fruit and raisins, as it opens you’ll find notes of wood and spice. Allow Equiano to elevate your rum experience.
