2023 Forlorn Hope "Queen of the Sierra" Co-Ferment (Sierra Foothills, CA) 3R

The Queen of the Sierra red estate blend is cultivated at the Rorick Heritage Vineyard in Calaveras County, at an elevation of 2000 feet, on soils consisting of a schist layer over dolomite-rich limestone. Primarily made from Zinfandel, Barbera, Tempranillo, Trousseau noir, and Mondeuse, this wine showcases the aromatic complexity and textured depth typical of wines from our estate's limestone soils. It offers an intriguing balance between vibrant, bold fruit flavors and the smooth tannins and lively acidity that form the wine's structure.

    About The Varietal

    Barbera

While frequently overshadowed by Nebbiolo, another native grape of Piedmont, Barbera still manages to craft unique and incredibly appealing red wines known for their versatility and enticing aromas. These wines possess the charm of Nebbiolo without its shortcomings.
