2022 Unico Zelo "Truffle Hound" (Clare Valley, AU) 3R

Lovingly dubbed 'Truffle Hound,' this wine is a tribute to the locals in Barolo who indulge in freshly fermented Nebbiolo before embarking on their cold, misty mountain truffle hunts with their expertly trained dogs (and even pigs!).

Unico Zelo's interpretation of Barbera and Nebbiolo is approachable, early-released, and brimming with delight. The wine unfolds with a smoky, amaro-inspired essence, featuring licorice and cardamom spice, driven by a lively and juicy palate and a bright yet savory finish.

    About The Varietal

    Barbera

While frequently overshadowed by Nebbiolo, another native grape of Piedmont, Barbera still manages to craft unique and incredibly appealing red wines known for their versatility and enticing aromas. These wines possess the charm of Nebbiolo without its shortcomings.
