2022 Montenidoli Vernaccia di San Gimignano Fiore (Tuscany, IT) 3W

Hailing from picturesque Tuscany, a glass of this wine transports you to the Italian countryside. Made from Vernaccia, an ancient grape varietal, this wine begins with an inviting bouquet of white flowers, citrus blossom, and hints of almond. The palate is perfectly balanced with flavors of tart green apple and lemon zest which would pair perfectly with Spaghetti alle Vongole or Chicken Piccata.

    About The Varietal

    Vernaccia

Vernaccia, derived from the pejorative form of the Italian word Vernaculo meaning "common" or "indigenous," has been used in various wine regions around Italy to refer to several entirely unrelated grape varieties. The majority of Vernaccias are light-skinned and give rise to light white-wine styles. However, there are also dark-skinned Vernaccias, collectively labeled under the conveniently generic title Vernaccia Nera.
