Black Birch Vineyards' "Epic" Red is an exciting, LOCAL, wine from our very own Massachusetts! About The Varietal

    Marquette

Marquette is a grape variety that was created through a crossbreeding process in 1989 and made available in 2006 by the University of Minnesota in the United States. Wines made from Marquette grapes are generally of medium body, featuring scents of cherries, blackcurrants, and blackberries. In higher-quality versions, you might also detect more intricate fragrances like tobacco and leather, with a spicy, peppery note on the finish.

    About The Producer

    Black Birch Vineyard

Winemakers Ian and Michelle first experienced and fell in love with winemaking during their first winery visit to the Loire Valley in France in 1990. Since then, wine has been the focal point of their travels - exploring Burgundy, Champagne, Penedes, Napa, Tuscany, and many more together. Using the same methods they learned in the Loire over 20 years ago, Michelle and Ian are crafting Northeastern varietals at their 5-award-winning winery in Hatfield, Massachusetts.
