Pop a chill on this bottle and enjoy notes of bright red fruit, tart cranberry acid and candied strawberry. This goes down a little too easy!

    About The Varietal

    Pais

Pais, known as Criolla Chica in Argentina and Mission in North America, is a historically significant red grape variety. It holds the distinction of being the first Vitis vinifera grape variety to be transported from the Old World (Spain) to the New World (Mexico) during the 16th Century. Despite its historical importance, it has often been considered a grape of lower quality.

    About The Producer

    Gillmore

In the late 1980s, Francisco Gillmore assumed control of a century-old dry-farmed property featuring the robust País variety. The oversight of the vineyards and the preservation of native fauna on the farm are now managed by Francisco's daughter, Daniella. Behind the crafting of wines that aim to capture the essence of the region and its people is Daniella's husband, the skilled winemaker Andrés Sánchez. Their two children, Martín and Dominga, now constitute the third generation of the family, establishing their roots deep into the core of this distinctive area in Maule.
