2020 Alpha Estate "Hedgehog Vineyard" Xinomavro (Amyndeon, GR) 3R

Working with a mix of international and indigenous varieties, Alpha Estate crafts some of the most desirable wines in the region using precise winemaking style. The single-vineyard "Hedgehog" has become the calling card wine for Alpha Estate. Gorgeous aromatics of potpourri, wild strawberry and red cherry. Vibrant and bright with well-managed tannins, plenty of juicy and crunchy fruit and refreshing acidity.

    About The Varietal

    Xinomavro

Xinomavro is a leading contender for Greece's top red grape, distinguished by its dark-skinned variety capable of yielding structured, powerful, and long-lived red wines of remarkable complexity. Characterized by notably high tannin and acidity levels, Xinomavro stands out as one of the most robust red wines in the Mediterranean and Europe as a whole.
