2014 Kita "Kalas" Red Blend (Santa Ynez Valley, CA) 6R

As seen in Queerty's "10 things we're obsessed with this week"

The 2014 Kalas is a deep-colored wine with immediately expressive aromatics that flirt with your senses. Complex flavors of dark fresh berries, black currant, espresso and eucalyptus highlight the diversity and minerality in the soil.

    About The Varietal

    Merlot

Merlot is a red wine grape variety that holds significant historical connections to Bordeaux and the southwestern regions of France. It is linked both to approachable, easy-drinking red wines and to the prestigious labels of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, showcasing its versatility in producing wines of various styles and qualities.

    About The Producer

    Kita

Kita is the first wine brand owned by a Native American tribe headed by a Native American winemaker, Tara Gomez. Due to unfortunate economic conditions, Kita decided to close its doors for good this past April, leaving behind one last vintage. Founded in 2010 by descendants of the Chumash of Coastal California, Kita began producing high-quality wines in the Santa Ynez Valley, grown on the traditional land of the Chumash people.
