2023 Christina Zweigelt Rose (Niederosterreich, AT) 2P

The Pannonian climate with the cool winds of the River Danube brings a very ripe, but also fresh cherry-fruit to the Zweigelt grapes resulting in wines with aromatic fruit, smooth tannins and no shortage of elegance. The grapes are hand harvested and direct pressed to stainless steel tanks, with just a few hours contact with the skins to provide color.

    About The Varietal

    Zweigelt

Zweigelt, Austria's indigenous grape variety, finds possibly its finest expression in Burgenland. It produces deep red, spicy wines with good aging qualities. A classic Austrian Zweigelt is characterized by a rich color, showcasing a deep, bright core of spiced cherry and raspberry flavors. The finest examples of Zweigelt have the potential to age well for a decade or so, but the majority are best consumed within a few years of release.

    About The Producer

    Christina

Growing up on a family farm managed by her parents and grandparents, Christina actively participated in tasks across the farm. Her early involvement ignited a deep passion for loving the land. Upon joining her parents in the family winery in 2007, Christina dedicated her efforts to discovering the distinctive style of their unique wine-growing region, Carnuntum. Throughout this period, the significance of soil conditions, micro-climates, and natural elements in the vineyards became increasingly important to her practice. Influenced by these environmental factors and the experience of raising their two daughters, she decided to transition to organic production in 2013. The cute bugs on the labels are an ode to all insects inhabiting their vineyards.
