2009 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvee Louis" Blanc de Blanc (Champagne, FR)

This wine presents a diverse range of flavors, including almonds, frangipani, dried lemons, apricots, pastries, and white chocolate, which gradually develop into notes of salted caramel. The complexity is truly impressive, with all elements in perfect harmony. It maintains a firm and well-defined character while remaining open and utterly delightful. The creamy texture is accompanied by exceptionally fine bubbles. Towards the finish, it takes on a salty, then chalky and mineral quality.

    About The Varietal

    Chardonnay

Chardonnay, possibly the most famous among white grape varieties, is frequently regarded as reaching its peak expression in its Burgundian birthplace. However, this grape has journeyed across the globe, and Chardonnay wines, ranging from outstanding to less inspiring, can now be discovered in various wine-producing regions worldwide.

    About The Producer

    Billecart-Salmon

In 1818, Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon tied the knot. Inspired by their shared passion for wine, they established Maison Billecart-Salmon in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, their hometown. Shortly after that, Nicolas François partnered with Louis Salmon, Elisabeth's brother. Nicolas François managed the business operations, while Louis, an enology enthusiast, focused on crafting exceptional wines. To this day, the house is still family-owned and operated.
