Comprised primarily of grapes from some of the most well known zip codes in the Maconnais, this is a White Burgundy you shouldn’t miss! With mouth watering stone fruit and bright acidity, this wine’s slightly creamy texture and citrusy zest create a complex and intoxicating wine at an unbeatable price point.
Bret Brothers was officially set up in 2001 by Jean-Phillipe and John-Guillame Bret who are – you guessed it – brothers. Incredibly talented, and possessing a contagious passion for wine, they are creating a small revolution which is raising the quality of wines in the Maconnais region within Burgundy, France.
Their entry level Chardonnay, the Macon-Villages “Terroirs du Maconnais” is no exception! Made primarily from grapes sourced from some of their most noteworthy sites including Vire-Clesse, Saint-Veran, and Pouilly-Fuisse, this is a far cry from most entry-level wines. Vines aging 25-70 years of age are hand-picked, carefully pressed, and aged in oak for 11 months. The end product is a wine of incredible balance, with depth and complexity quite uncommon in Villages level wines. If you are looking for a killer White Burgundy with an approachable price point, look no further than Bret Brothers!
