A sure crowd-pleaser, Philippe Colin’s Pinot Noir is sure to hit the spot! Fresh and light bodied, with notes of tart cherry and fresh strawberry, spice, and earthy nuances, this wine is exactly what we are looking for in an approachable Red Burgundy. With an ample amount of bright acidity and fine tannins, there is some potential to age this wine, but why wait?! Unlike some Old World Pinot, this bottle is made to drink well almost immediately, and boy am I glad. After you taste it once it is hard not to open a bottle for every occasion.
Domaine Philippe Colin was established in 2004 and works only 11.5 hectares of vines located around the famous village of Chassagne-Montrachet. While they make many wines, both red and white, this entry level Bourgogne Pinot is the perfect introduction to the house style. Philippe himself is obsessed with the idea of terroir, and seeks to express the location as purely as possible in his wines. The 2015 Bourgogne is meant to encompass not just a single plot of land, but give a sense of the overall personality of Burgundy, as Philippe sees it.
