2007 La Rioja Alta ‘Gran Reserva 904’
Don’t be intimidated by the old vintage dates on Rioja. These are wines that need time to cool their heels and come together structurally. Aged in oak for four years, the wine sees additional aging in bottle and is a sure bet for continued aging in your wine cellar. This wine is pure Rioja – bright cherry aromas mix with a stewed fruit element that is classic for this region. On the palate, this wine is balanced in acid, tannins, and structure. Expect fruit mixed with tobacco, spice, and a creamy caramel quality. An outstanding wine.
