You may have seen on Instagram last week that I posted my musings on how I love a fresh new start to the year, and having the time to think about how to make our business stronger and more efficient. Well, TJ and I have done that, and what we’ve realized is we have some job openings! Please read below to learn more about our available positions, and send in a resume as soon as possible!


The Urban Grape, Boston’s award-winning wine, craft beer, and spirits store, located in Boston’s South End neighborhood is gearing up for a year of growth in our industry by hiring for several positions. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to bring their positive energy to the store. The Urban Grape encourages growth within the company, and motivated, hard working employees are rewarded with additional opportunities and salary. All applicants should have a love of learning, and a gift for giving concierge-style service to our customers.

Floor Staff:
– (2) Full time, hourly positions
– Includes health care, 401k, and two weeks paid vacation
– Previous experience in beverage retail, distribution, or restaurant service preferred
– Must be able to work all shifts, holidays, and weekends
– We’re looking for energetic floor staff to join our existing staff
– A love of wine, beer and spirits, a great attitude, and a love of sales make you the perfect candidate!

Events Assistant/Floor Staff:
– (1) Full time, hourly position
– Includes health care, 401K, and two weeks paid vacation
– 20 hours per week floor staff/20 hours per week Events Assistant
– All Floor Staff requirements listed above
– Work with the Manager of Urban Affairs to book 3 free weekly in-store tastings per week
– Set up and manage all free in-store events
– Plan and execute monthly Geek Out events – classroom style events on different beverage topics
– Plan and manage specialty pop-up shops at the store
– Plan and manage monthly Grand Tastings
– A position with lots of growth potential

Beer and Spirits Manager:
– (1) Full time, salaried position
– Includes health care, 401K, and two weeks paid vacation
– 20 hours per week managerial floor shifts
– 20 hours per week working as the beer and spirits buyer for the company
– Meet with brand reps, set up free tastings
– Educate the staff on new items
– Manage back stock
– Write two newsletters per month
– Manage the Urban Hops social media account
– Bring your personality and make this position your own!

Special Orders Manager
– (1) Full time, salaried position
– Includes health care, 401K, and two weeks paid vacation
– 40 hours per week managerial office position
– Communicate with existing customers to fill special orders requests
– Work with distributors to find exclusive wine offers to pass on to customers
– Proactively cultivate new customers
– Write one newsletter per week – strong written communications needed
– Postive, friendly and outgoing attitude
– Ability to sell both high end and lower price point items
– Certified Sommelier or applicable experience necessary
– Proficient at multi-tasking and managing others to create efficient, collaborative environment
– Manage all deliveries and wine shipments
– Tremendous growth opportunities
