  • 8.18.17 Brewing Outside of the Box! Gypsy beer Face-off: Evil Twin and Stillwater! And Two Roads! 5-8pm

No brewery? No problem! That’s the mantra for the gyspy brewer’s at Evil Twin and Stillwater. In one corner there’s Brooklyn-based Evil Twin, which was founded by Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø who’s presently making beer at 10 different breweries worldwide. And in the other corner we have Stillwater Artisanal, a brewing venture headed by Baltimore-native Brian Strumke who traded in techno DJ’ing for a life of nomadic brewing!

Both these roaming brewers have collaborated with Connecticut’s Two Roads Brewing who will be joining in as well!

  • 8.19.17 'That's Gamazing!' Gamay Game-Changers! 3-6pm

Gamay is one of our favorite underdog grapes. This vigorous vine was exiled from Burgundy in the late 1300’s, cast to the far reaches in Beaujolais where it began a 600 year road to redemption in Pinot Noir’s shadow. Gamay surged in popularity again in the 70’s, but overproduction and the 80’s Beaujolais Nouveau craze caused its second undoing. But Beaujolais’ staunch proponents rallied around their prized crus, proving the wine’s depth and vibrance time and time again. In this celebration of Gamay’s rise to prominence, we’ll be featuring triumphs of cru Beaujolais, as well as champions of the grape the world over.

    Gimme that Gamay ya’ll!

  • 8.28.17 The Low-Down on Portuguese Vinho! 6-7:30pm

Considered Europe’s final wine frontier – Portugal is the place to go for finding outstanding value wine. Beyond Port and the Douro Valley, there are still many great regions just waiting to be discovered! The wine culture has developed in relative isolation and with 250+ native varieties that dominate the winemaking scene their labels can be pretty indecipherable. Jack Couto, considered the authority on Portuguese wine, is here to give the low-down on up-and-coming regions to watch and share some distinctive wines made from varietals you’ve probably never tried!
