Four great bottles of wine handpicked by our staff, always $50
January may start off the new year, but February kicks the festivities off! Whether it’s a Super Bowl Sunday gathering, or a romantic Valentine’s Day evening night in, this sampler is full of reasons to get together and celebrate. We’ve selected four wines for you to enjoy all month long while you root for your favorite athlete during the Olympics, sit back and enjoy the NBA All-Star game, get your pick in for this season’s award shows, or celebrate Chinese New Year. We’ve got wines for all occasions!
NV Dibon Cava Rosado (Catalonia, Spain) *B*
Feel the love with an aromatic bouquet of rosé wine! Spain is known for their caliente romance so it’s no surprise we sourced a sparkling Garnacha fit for flirtation that pairs well with chocolates and roses. Dibon Rosado is a Brut style made in the classical champagne method. Elegant with gentle notes of red fruits, it’s also aged on the lees for more complexity and weight. Pop open a nice bubbly to celebrate!
2016 Bacchus Chardonnay (California, USA) *8W*
Bacchus, the Greek god of wine, is here with a winter white of Olympic proportions. From the golden slopes of Central Coast California, it’s a crowd-pleasing white that will have you cheering! Notes of apple and citrus paired with a crisp minerality gives this wine a nice balance and long finish. Go for gold with Chardonnay this month.
2015 Domaine Les Hautes Noelles ‘Hého’ Rouge (Loire Valley, France) *2R*
Hého! Is this what we call Eagle’s fans? Nah, it’s our cheers to New England and it’s a cherry bomb that just wins. This pairs well with bird wings no matter how you cook ‘em. A blend of Grolleau Noir, Gamay, and Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley, it’s a smooth knockout just like JT’s Half-Time show. Grab the nachos, you’re good to go!
2016 Domaine Rimbert ‘Cousin Oscar’ Red (Lanquedoc-Roussillon, France) *4R*
Awards season is upon us! Domaine Rimbert is here to help guide you to the Oscars with a stunner from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. Winemaker Jean-Marie named this 100% “Ciné-sault” after his irresistible cousin and with notes of dried raspberries and red cherries we have no doubt you’ll feel the same. Made of organic grapes from the only area in the St. Chinian AOC comprised of schist soil, this is a truly unique wine worthy of its own Oscar.
