This trio of friends began home-brewing in their Somerville kitchen 10 years ago – they called themselves “Night Shift” – workers by day, brewers by night. Since professionally debuting in 2012, Night Shift Brewing has made an impressive mark on Boston’s craft beer scene. They began in a small 3,000-square foot nano-brewery in Everett, MA and after a few years and high demand, made the move to it’s impressive 30,000-square foot location on Santilli Highway.
Today, you can find Night Shift in many of Boston’s best restaurants. We are proud to feature their large-format, ever-changing sours on our shelves and their fresh, juicy, and highly-crushable cans on constant rotation in our cooler. My current favorite is their newest release, the Rickey Weisse – a mixed fermentation sour aged with raspberries and lime. While it may still be a little frigid outside, this beer transports me somewhere tropical!
The warmer weather has left us with the itch for Spring Cleaning. And while we’re not quite hanging an “Everything Must Go” sign over the beer section, we are featuring some amazing producers at prices as low as $2.50! Here are the details:
We are thrilled to announce the return of Trillium Brewing to the shelves of The Urban Grape! It’s been almost a year since we last offered beer from Boston’s hottest brewery, but now that their Canton facility is up to speed, we’ve restocked, and will continue to restock every Tuesday.
If you’ve had Trillium’s beer before, I imagine you’re already on your way to the shop. If you haven’t had Trillium’s beer, you should fix that immediately! Every brew is a work of art; balanced, flavorful, and always incredibly fresh. And while they’re (justifiably) best known for their hoppy offerings, don’t sleep on their farmhouse ales or darker styles, all of which perfectly express their traditional roots while adding a distinct flair.
We’re kicking off Trillium’s return to the shelves with an exclusive offer – a four-pack including favorites like their flagship farmhouse ale, Citra-Hopped Free Rise Saison, Pot & Kettle Oatmeal Porter, and Big Sprang Hoppy Kolsh. They should be hitting our shelves around noon, and as always supplies are limited. Can’t get to the store? Email Sophie to place your order. Limit one four-pack per customer, no substitutions.
If you miss out on the four pack, don’t worry, we’ll have even more Trillium hitting the shelves every week from now on! Keep an eye out on the @urbanhops Twitter and Instagram feeds for weekly updates each Tuesday on the beers we have in stock. Remember, from now on Tuesday is Trillium Day at UG!
The Somerville Brewing Company (or Slumbrew, after their once-humble hometown) is among our favorite local breweries. With a wide variety of brews ranging from light saisons to deep chocolate porters, they have something for every beer drinker. My personal favorite, and one of my true go-to beers, is their Flagraiser IPA, a Galaxy-hopped brew that opens up with incredible tropical notes, then develops into a perfect blend of sweet caramel malt and grassy hop bitterness.
