2016 DIVISION-VILLAGES “LES PETITS FERS” GAMAY NOIR (WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OR)
We are downright freaking obsessed with the Gamay grape at the moment, and we won’t stop until you’re joining us in drinking red wine straight from the fridge at the end of a hot day.
Gamay has it all – a wonderful, fresh, grape-y flavor and lots of acid. It’s a perfect pairing for summer noshing – cheese and crackers, prosciutto, and the like – but also tastes great with pizza off the grill or a big, juicy burger. The possibilities are endless. And yes, it really does taste best with a chill on it.
The Division-Villages Gamay is a great example of what American wine makers are doing with a grape typically associated with Beaujolais, France. It’s classic many ways: intense fruit flavors, black pepper, minerality, and joviality – this is a happy wine. Additionally, the acid on this wine is no joke, in the best possible way. But despite being remarkably French in style, it has an American sensibility to it. This is a wine that should be popped, poured, and enjoyed within hours of bringing it home. No aging required.
Only 280 cases of this wine were produced, so stock up by clicking the “Buy Now” button below. Because once you fall in love with Gamay, there is no going back!
